Lobero LIVE

Lobero LIVE is serving up a season guaranteed to satisfy all tastes in music, culture, cuisine, dance and comedy.

The celebrated Jazz at the Lobero series returns with the Pat Metheny Unity Band, Dianne Reeves, Monterey Jazz Festival headliners including Dee Dee Bridgewater and Christian McBride, along with the dueling piano trios of Brad Mehldau Trio and The Bad Plus. You won’t want to miss a beat of this sizzling series.

Travel through American roots music with the Lobero’s Roots series featuring the finest strummers and pickers around. Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur take jugband music to the blues, then Dr. John, “the night tripper,” joins the Blind Boys of Alabama for a journey down the bayou from Sprituals to Funk. The Punch Brothers will then take audiences beyond bluegrass in a rare Santa Barbara appearance.

A Series of Wits offers a glance at this election season through the dual lenses of the contemporary satire perfected by the Capitol Steps in September, and the timeless commentary of Mark Twain as played by Tony and Emmy Award winner Hal Holbrook in November. In between, dine on the delights of food, family and more with the saucy new play, Food Confessions, conceived by Nancy Nufer, produced by Rod Lathim and directed by Jenny Sullivan.

Mangia del’ Arte will once again captivate diners with feats of artistry both on the plate and on the stage. DANCEworks is thrilled to host New York’s Keigwin + Company in their eagerly anticipated 2013 residency, and It’s Magic! returns with all its wonderful parlor tricks and large-scale illusions.
